Be the Change

Be the Change is a video dedicated to combating stigma and discrimination, featuring LEAC members Steven Taylor, Jane Little and Mei Mak. Through their personal stories, they challenge misconceptions, change attitudes, and promote understanding in the community about viral hepatitis. We are incredibly grateful to them for sharing their stories.

To the community living with hepatitis… be brave and learn more. To medical professionals, show some compassion, be kind, be curious, make sure your patients understand what you are telling them.

Raising Hepatitis B Awareness

LiverWELL has produced a series of engaging short videos aimed at raising awareness and breaking down stigma, particularly within the Khmer, Chinese, and Filipino communities. These videos, produced in multiple languages, feature trusted community leaders sharing their personal experiences and insights on vaccination, testing, and treatment.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the community ambassadors from the Chinese, Filipino, and Cambodian communities in Melbourne who generously shared their stories and insights for our video series. Their contributions have been invaluable in helping raise awareness and understanding of liver health across diverse communities.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
