On Wednesday 13 May 2026, our communications team at LiverWELL joined communications professionals from hepatitis member organisations across Australia in Melbourne for the Communications Community of Practice Workshop hosted by Hepatitis Australia.

We’re proud to introduce Dr Maryaan Essa, one of LiverWELL’s Community Activators.

Maryaan is a medical doctor from Iraq and works as a bicultural worker with cohealth and a health educator with Multicultural cultural women health centre . She is also deeply connected with Arabic-speaking women across communities, supporting access to clear, culturally meaningful health information.

Yesterday in Bendigo, LiverWELL and Thorne Harbour Country came together to host the Bendigo Regional Forum 2026, bringing people from across the BBV, rainbow, and health sectors in regional Victoria and Melbourne into one space for connection, conversation, and shared learning.

In March, LiverWELL collaborated with Swinburne University’s AMEP department to deliver 11 hepatitis B workshops.

LiverWELL attended the Harmony Day event at Springvale Neighbourhood House on 22 March.

LiverWELL delivered a hepatitis B information session for the Cantonese-speaking community in Footscray with 14 participants.
