Become a Lived Experience Speaker

May 3, 2022

LiverWELL champions the interests of people affected by or at risk of viral hepatitis and liver disease. As a health promotion agency, we believe it is important to involve and hear the voices of people with lived experiences of viral hepatitis and/or liver disease.

LiverWELL has a bureau of Lived Experience Speakers, who are a vital element of our education and information sessions. Presentations can be requested on a variety of topics that include treatment, stigma and discrimination, healthy lifestyles, and living with a chronic liver condition. The personal stories of speakers assist in dispelling myths and highlighting the stigma that can be faced in medical settings by the general public.

Lived Experience Speakers receive training and are supported to develop and tell their stories to a range of audiences.

We invite those who would like to share their experiences to join our Lived Experience Speaker team. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested, please contact community@liverwell.org.au or see our Speakers page

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
