LiverWELL Celebrates the Lunar New Year

February 13, 2025

We honoured the Year of the Snake at the 2025 Glen Waverley Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival.

The annual Lunar New Year celebration is a significant cultural festival for the community. It celebrates the coming of the Lunar New Year with rituals, traditions and ceremonies designed to bring good luck and good fortune for the coming year. We shared information about Hepatitis B and C with festivalgoers. Many attendees were very interested in our resources and wanted to learn more about how to protect themselves
and their family from viral hepatitis!

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
