Reflecting on World Hepatitis Day 2025

August 19, 2025

As we reflect on World Hepatitis Day, observed globally every year on 28 July, we’re proud of the action taken to raise awareness about viral hepatitis and its impact on millions of people. The 2025 theme, Let’s Break It Down!, called for urgent efforts to remove the financial, social, and systemic barriers that continue to stand in the way of hepatitis elimination by 2030. It also brought to light the misinformation and stigma that often prevent people from accessing testing and treatment.

This year, we helped break down the facts through our bold and creative campaign: Test it, Treat it. From social media videos and podcast ads that amassed over 100,000+ views to giant billboards with a combined audience of thousands and the return of our iconic Hep C Rap, we worked to share clear, accessible information with communities across the state. Alongside our campaigns we hosted an event in parliament, and worked with community organisations as part of our World Hepatitis Day Incentives program. World Hepatitis Day reminded us that we all have a role to play in ending hepatitis. Through education, advocacy, testing, and treatment, we can continue moving toward a future where hepatitis care is accessible and stigma free.
