Standing in solidarity with Wuhan

February 20, 2020

Hepatitis Victoria/LiverWELL® staff expressed their support
and solidarity on Thursday with the people of Wuhan, and all those in China and elsewhere
affected by the Corona virus, with a lunch sourced from a local
Chinese restaurant.

“We have a longstanding relationship with the Chinese community which has engaged with us for many years in the fight against viral hepatitis,” said Hepatitis Victoria/LiverWELL® CEO Melanie Eagle.

“I want to thank our many volunteer students, who play a critical role helping us to do work that is both culturally and lingustically appropriate, because without them we could not engage to the extent that we have, particularly in raising awareness about hepatitis B,” she said.

Melanie said the Chinese Health Promotion Coalition was an important collaborator in raising awareness about viral hepatitis and liver disease in the Australian Chinese community.
