The theme for World Liver Day 2025 is Food is Medicine.
Eating a healthy balanced diet can be a game-changer for liver health.
Our amazing livers perform 500 vital functions to support our health! They filter toxins, help us digest our food as well as regulating our metabolism. When our livers aren’t functioning properly due to infections like viral hepatitis or conditions like steatotic liver disease (SLD), it not only affects our liver but other vital organs and our overall health.
The good news is there are lots of ways we can take care of our livers and support our liver health . This includes getting tested and treated for viral hepatitis if you are at risk and eating plenty of colourful fruits and veggies and whole grains to reduce your risk of SLD.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
