Tien Dang

Volunteer of the Month, February 2020

About me

Hi, my name is Tien Thuy Dang, from Vietnam. Currently, I’m undertaking the course of Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management in Academie Australiasia Polytechnic. Also I work as commis chef in Mantra Hotel.

I’m enthusiastic and a self-motivated person who is always looking for an opportunity to learn new things. I would like to gain more knowledge related to health care because I believe that we need to know this important knowledge. We can then understand how to protect ourselves. Protect yourself is your priority to be responsible for others.

What inspired me to become a Hepatitis Victoria Volunteer?

Thus, we can understand how to protect ourselves. “Protect yourself is your priority to be responsible for others”. This quote is inspired me to become a Hepatitis Victoria volunteer.

My favourite Hepatitis Victoria sessions or moments

When using my English language skills to translate into my mother language – Vietnamese and conduct a talk of hepatitis with the Vietnamese community.

Also, when I’m able to volunteer at Hep Vic sessions, I’m able to improve my translation skills and share my new knowledge with the community about hepatitis.

What tips do I have for new volunteers?

Enjoy on what you love to do.
