We’re thrilled to welcome Deng Riak to our Community Activator Program!
Originally from South Sudan and fluent in Dinka, Deng brings a powerful voice and a deep commitment to community wellbeing. Now working as a project coordinator at Foundation House, Deng supports young people from African backgrounds and their families — and he’s ready to take his impact even further.
“Liver health is not commonly discussed in the community – but I believe it needs to be.”
Together, we’re planning a future event that will empower the community through knowledge and connection. In the meantime, we’re excited to collaborate with Deng on a podcast and audio resources in Dinka designed to make vital health information more accessible.
If you would like to champion liver health with your community, you can submit an Expression of Interest to become a Community Activator here.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
