World Hepatitis Day is coming!
World Hepatitis Day on 28 July marks a global day of action to raise awareness about hepatitis and the impact it has on millions of people worldwide.
It’s Time For Action. Test It. Treat It.
We are at a crucial stage in the global drive to end viral hepatitis by 2030.
We have the tools to achieve this now – there is a cure for hepatitis C and a vaccine and effective treatments for hepatitis B. However, treatment alone is not enough.
Stigma and discrimination continue to be significant barriers to accessing care. To overcome these challenges, we must prioritise peer-led health promotion and community-driven approaches that offer safe, inclusive, and meaningful care.
So on World Hepatitis Day let’s all make a move and learn, educate and advocate for prevention, linkage to care, testing and treatment. This year’s global theme echoes the urgency of the task ahead: It’s time for action.
We are pleased to be supporting many community partner organisations to raise awareness and celebrate the day. Keep an eye out for some awesome myth-busting social media videos, radio advertisements, our Hep C rap song on TikTok, giant billboards, and green-lit structures.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
