Dear LiverWELL Community,

We’re very excited to share that LiverWELL will be presenting at six sessions for the upcoming Australasian Viral Hepatitis Conference (VH2025) in August. This is an important opportunity to elevate community voices and contribute to the national conversation about the future of hepatitis care – registrations are now open and we’d love to see you there.

This month two new staff members joined the team, Bianca Lew as our Health Promotion Team Manager, and Michelle d’Souza, Health Promotion Officer. We welcome their skills and passion for health equity, disease prevention, and community health promotion. We also welcome Dr Adiba Babak, as one of LiverWELL’s newest Community Activators.

Earlier this month, we were delighted to join Springvale Neighbourhood House at their Harmony Day event at Springvale Town Hall. It was a vibrant celebration of community, and a great opportunity to connect around liver health and wellbeing. A reminder that community groups can now apply for up to $1000 in funding to support local World Hepatitis Day activities later in the year. These incentives are designed to help raise awareness and reduce stigma around hepatitis B and C – applications are now open.

And finally, 19th April is World Liver Day! This year’s theme is Food is Medicine, because what we eat can be a game-changer for protecting our livers. I encourage you to visit our World Liver Day webpage, where you’ll find our Eating Well Guide and a range of practical resources to support your liver health. Enjoy!

Warm regards,
