Along with the range of exciting events occurring across the state this World Hepatitis Day, LiverWELL has also been developing our own campaign. We have created a series of short animated videos which are available on our website and social media platforms to share. These videos were designed in a fun illustrative style and utilise plain English to help encourage everyday members of the community to take control of their liver health by getting tested, getting treated and talking to their GP.
As part of a worldwide movement, structures everywhere are being lit up in green to mark World Hepatitis Day. In Victoria, you’ll see a green glow on the Bolte Bridge and Tullamarine Soundtube; the Ballarat clock and fountain; the Bendigo Conservatory; and the catenary lights in Geelong, on Moorabool and Malop Streets. Across other states, many monuments will also be glowing green in Western Australia, Canberra, Queensland and NSW.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
