As an organisation, we love getting out and learning new things to help us engage with the community. This Wednesday 15 May, LiverWELL staff attended a guided journey through the Melbourne Royal Botanical Gardens,a significant cultural site for the local Kulin Nations.
The tour was led by a First Nations guide who helped us gain insight into the rich history and thriving culture of the First Peoples of Australia through a voyage of identifying significant native plants within the Royal Botanical Gardens. We look forward to new opportunities to develop our knowledge of First Nations culture and heritage.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
