On the 22nd of November, BreastScreen Victoria, Cancer Council Victoria and LiverWELL co-delivered a workshop with a Vietnamese elderly group within the Darebin City Council at the Shire Hall Preston. We talked about the importance of breast screening, bowel screening, cervical screening and hepatitis B information. Presenters Gracy Wu, Ada Castle and Alain Palines engaged with over 40 members about catching the signs of cancer early, the benefits of routine screening, and speaking to a health professional if they had any concerns.
With the help of a Vietnamese interpreter, community members could ask questions and engage fully in the session. Resources from various organisations were available for attendees, with additional handouts provided afterwards. LiverWELL thanks Darebin City Council, BreastScreen Victoria, and Cancer Council Victoria for co-delivering the session.
