Dorothy Gilmour

Former Counsellor and Lecturer | Rotary Club of Melbourne

I respect the wonderful work and prevention of hepatitis being promoted by Hepatitis Victoria.

Former Trauma, Loss & Grief Counsellor and Lecturer. Champion of Rotary Safe Families Program. Volunteering and helping our disadvantaged has always been a priority in my life.

As a team member of the Rotary Melbourne End Hepatitis initiative, I assist our team in the promotion of the program to Rotary Clubs around Victoria. As Editor of our Rotary Melbourne weekly Bulletin, I ensure Members and Subscribers are aware of this initiative.

Communication is one of the most important and powerful tools we have. Communication and means of communicating has become so diverse and fascinating. We must tell people and share with people, the profound impact of Hepatitis on an individual.

The key to doing this is online and in-person conversations and more. We need to use the platforms available to us to get the message out to as many people as possible. We all need to be “Informed”, how to identify, and how to prevent.

Dorothy’s message to others:

Take an interest in being informed about hepatitis. Don’t be a helpless bystander. Know what steps to take to in the prevention of hepatitis. Be proactive.
