Cr. Richard Lim champions awareness of hepatitis in the Khmer Community

August 3, 2023

In Australia, 1 in 12 Cambodians are diagnosed with hepatitis B. To address this issue, Dandenong Councillor Richard Lim and a team of Khmer Community members came together to create a video on ‘Hep B and the Need for Awareness’ with the aim of raising awareness about hepatitis B and eliminating stigma and discrimination in the community.

In the video, Richard and the community members deliver an important message to the community about the affordability of hepatitis B medications for everyone, and the risks, prevention, and management of hepatitis B.

LiverWELL staff Tepy Hoeng and Alain Palines presented Richard with a Certificate of Appreciation, recognising his important work with the Khmer Community and on the video.

Our thanks to GoMediaAu for producing this video.
