Workforce Development Officer (0.8 FTE, Ongoing)

Salary: $77,712 per annum (for 0.8 FTE) + salary packaging benefits

Strengthen workforce capability and help improve hepatitis prevention, care and treatment across Victoria.

At LiverWELL (incorporating Hepatitis Victoria), we’re on a mission to eliminate viral hepatitis and improve liver health for all. For more than 30 years, we’ve worked alongside communities and health-sector partners to raise awareness, reduce stigma and improve access to care across Victoria.

We’re seeking a proactive and collaborative Workforce Development Officer to strengthen the knowledge, skills and confidence of health professionals, community service providers and other workforces in responding to hepatitis B and C.

You’ll identify learning needs, build partnerships and develop engaging, evidence-informed education and resources that support prevention, testing, referral and linkage to care.

The Role

Reporting to the Health Promotion Manager, the Workforce Development Officer will play a key role in strengthening the capacity of health professionals, community service providers and other workforces to respond effectively to hepatitis B and C.

You’ll proactively identify workforce learning needs, develop and deliver engaging, evidence-informed education and resources, and build partnerships with health services, community organisations, education providers and other stakeholders across Victoria.

Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, you’ll contribute to workforce development initiatives that strengthen hepatitis prevention, testing, referral and linkage to care, while promoting person-centred approaches and reducing stigma and discrimination.

About You

You’re a proactive educator, communicator and collaborator who is passionate about strengthening workforce capability and improving health outcomes. You enjoy building relationships, identifying opportunities and translating complex health information into practical, engaging learning experiences.

You bring:

• Experience developing and delivering workforce education, training or capacity-building activities in health or community settings
• Ability to identify learning needs and proactively engage organisations to develop workforce development opportunities
• Strong facilitation, communication and relationship-building skills
• Knowledge of hepatitis B and C, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge
• Commitment to person-centred approaches and meaningful involvement of people with lived and living experience
• An organised, adaptable and collaborative approach to your work

A qualification in public health, health promotion, allied health or a related health discipline is essential. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent training experience is desirable.

People with lived or living experience of viral hepatitis or liver disease are highly encouraged to apply.

This is a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week) position based in North Melbourne, with occasional travel across Victoria.
