Interim Health Promotion Manager

About this role

  • Full-time contract position until 30 June 2025
  • Reports to CEO
  • Remuneration commensurate with responsibilities of position and experience of
    candidate.

The purpose of this interim role is to the support the Health Promotions Team and ensuring delivery of high quality deliverables for the period up to 30 June, whilst the organisation recruits a permanent manager. This role is to provide hands-on management for the experienced and diverse Health Promotions (HP) Team, deliver a limited set of operational requirements, and coordinate and produce  LiverWELL’s annual plan for the Department of Health for 2025 – 2026. To do this you will have the full support of the CEO and management team. The Health Promotions team have several deliverables over this period, some which are directly owned and delivered by this role. As a member of the LiverWELL management team you will have access to critical information to support your decision making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Role specific:

  •  Develop annual Agency Plan for the Department of Health, with inputs from HP team
    and representatives across the organisation. (March – May)
  • Provide effective Management Support, including 1:1’s and Team meetings, Responding
    to requests, People Management and Peer Support Activities
  • Collate and write the quarterly report with content from HP team (April)
  • HepLink Project Coordination – Act as main contact and contribute to the national
    working group
  • Provide input into the annual LiverWELL budget – (April – May)
  • Support & Coordinate World Hep Day Activities across organisation (June)
  • ACCHO Project – convene steering committee meeting (March)

General:

  • Contribute as part of the LiverWELL management team, contributing to regular
  • meetings.
  • Participate in external stakeholder events, as required
  • Abide by LiverWELL’s policies and procedures and demonstrate LiverWELL’s values.
  • At all times maintain confidentiality of information about service users, members, staff,
    volunteers and other personnel.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a skilled, clear and engaging communicator,
  • experienced at managing and enabling diverse teams,
  • a skilled project manager, where there are multiple contributors and tight timeframes,
  • skilled at report writing,
  • able to pull together, analyse and combine disparate information to create a cohesive
    message,
  • experience working in community engagement and development, and
  • capable of identifying improvements and efficiencies.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in Viral Hepatitis or Blood-borne Virus sector will be highly
    regarded
  • Experience in clinical, health and/or NFP sector, in particular experience working with
    marginalised communities
  • Willingness to develop understanding of the complexities of viral hepatitis

Interim Health Promotion Team Officer

About this role

  • Part-time position until 30 June 2025 – 3 days per week

This varied role has been created to help deliver our work in viral hepatitis alongside the experienced and diverse Health Promotions (HP) Team whilst the organisation recruits a permanent team member. The work will include a combination of projects some of which this position will own as well as some projects which will be co-owned with a team member, or in support of a team member’s project.
This role will provide the opportunity to run small community events, presenting to groups and developing relationships with communities and networks. To ensure your success, you will be supported, and trained where relevant, by our experienced, passionate and supportive Health Promotion team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Role specific

  • Lead on the delivery of StreetShot, LiverWELL’s program to engage schools and youth organisations to increase awareness of Viral Hepatitis. This will involve awareness building, program and activity pack delivery, championing and organising the roving art exhibition.
  • Assist with coordination of the World Hepatitis Day Incentives Program. This is an established program and the work will includes overseeing applications and preparing collateral.
  • Working alongside the Community Activations HP team member, coordinate and run 10-12 community events. This involves planning, consulting with clients, presenting at events, and collecting feedback.
  • Promote the Community Ambassador video at events you attend or schedule, and collate feedback.
  • Create content for the promotional materials for LiverWELL’s LiverLine alongside the Linkage to Care Officer and an external Graphic Designer.
  • Manage rosters, and take calls on LiverLine (full training will be provided).
  • Support the delivery of our Lived Experience Speaker program, by ensuring events coordinators, preparation and scheduling of speakers, attend events, and oversee evaluation collection.
  • Event and logistics support for the for Linkeage to Care HP team

General

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • A confident and engaging communicator and presenter
  • Well organised with sound project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Works well with team members, and able to work independently
  • Willingness to develop understanding of the complexities of viral hepatitis
  • Capable of problem solving in the moment, when required
  • Experience working in community engagement and development
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Victoria.
  • Proficiency and experience using the Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access)
  • A willingness to obtain a National Police Record Check and a Victorian Working with
  • Children Check. Please note: having a police record will not immediately rule you out of consideration. Please speak to us should you have any concerns.

Desirable

  • Experience working with diverse communities and / or Not-for-profit organisations
  • Experience working in the blood borne virus sector will be highly regarded but is not
  • essential.
  • A current driver’s license valid for the State of Victoria.
