Happy Volunteers Week!

May 16, 2022 - May 22, 2022

This week is National Volunteer Week, which means it is time to reflect and recognise the important role volunteers play in the success of LiverWELL.

This year the theme of national volunteer week is ‘Better Together’, and we believe this to be true. We value the crucial and valuable work that our volunteers, lived experience speakers and interns do to help champion the interests of people affected by or at risk of viral hepatitis and liver disease.

We are always recruiting new volunteers to help at LiverWELL. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, and with their many valuable skills, are an important part of in raising community awareness of viral hepatitis and liver health. They come from medical, public health, social work and business backgrounds and freely give their time to sit on our Board, or help out with a vast array of projects.

People can volunteer for:

  • Supporting Community Education
  • Event promotion and content development
  • Translating resources for the community
  • Special project support
  • Special events such as World Hepatitis Day
  • Public speaking to raise awareness of viral hepatitis and liver health.

LiveWELL would like to extend a thank you to our volunteers and applaud the dedication they have shown toward our organisation.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
