LiverWELL Consumer Advisory Committee:

We are seeking expressions of interest from those with lived experience of hepatitis or liver disease, or their supporters or carers, to join a new LiverWELL Consumer Advisory Committee in 2023.

This committee will provide strategic advice and inform our decision-making, from the perspective of lived experience.

A Committee member’s role is to:

  • act as a representative and present the views of people with lived experience of viral hepatitis or liver disease to the best of their ability
  • raise issues that affect people living with viral hepatitis or liver disease and contribute feedback on LiverWELL’s programs and information
  • discuss issues and recommend ways forward
  • attend scheduled meetings and actively participate
  • be able to look beyond personal interests and advocate for concerns within the broader community
  • maintain basic knowledge and understanding of the main issues relevant to liver health.

Objectives of the Consumer Advisory Committee

To provide a respectful and inclusive environment that encourages consumers to comfortably voice opinions and provide constructive advice to LiverWELL on:

  • organisational policies, strategy or services
  • current organisational policies, strategy or services
  • how we advocate for improved access and rights and reduce stigma and discrimination for people living with viral hepatitis and liver disease in the community
  • community awareness and perceptions of liver health
  • organisational messaging regarding liver health and representations of people living with viral hepatitis and liver disease
  • responses to organisational challenges as needed.

Members will be appointed for one year and may re-nominate for up to 3 years. Meetings will be held 3 times per year in person at LiverWELL or online.

Submit your expression of interest to join this committee by emailing pippa@liverwell.org.au with a short statement on your lived experience, and what you feel you can contribute as a member of this group.
