We’re proud to introduce Dr Adiba Babak, one of LiverWELL’s newest Community Activators. Community Activators are respected, well-connected individuals who pledge to improve liver health literacy within their communities.
Dr Babak is a multilingual doctor from Afghanistan, passionate about empowering others—especially women—with knowledge about their health.
Recently, Adiba co-facilitated a session at the Southern Migrant Resource Centre for around 30 mostly Afghan women, sharing vital information about viral hepatitis and liver health. The group was highly engaged and appreciated her ability to move seamlessly between English and Dari, making the session accessible and meaningful.
We also congratulate Dr Babak on her new role as Family Support Coordinator at the Southern Migrant Resource Centre—a perfect fit for her dedication and community spirit!
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands where we work - the lands of the Woi-Wurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We express our gratitude to them for their continued care and curation of these lands and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
LiverWELL observes and honours the Kulin Nation's intrinsic connection to land, sky and water, and the creator Bunjil. LiverWELL is committed to being led and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on bridging health outcomes for communities and improving liver health.
