I was interested in learning more about the organization and the activities developed to advocate for people with hepatitis. I also wanted to learn more about hepatitis and its treatments.
What inspired me to become a Hepatitis Victoria volunteer is my love of science and wanting to help communities such as my own (South Sudanese).
I have an interest in public health and wanted to gain a better understanding of the organisation and services in which it provides.
I grew up in Vietnam where Hepatitis is still a public health concern. I wish to continue my passion of preventing the spread of Hepatitis for the community. Hepatitis Victoria shares my care and I wish to contribute to this mutual goal.
I am lucky enough to work in all our lived experience engagement programs and coordinate all our amazing volunteers. I began as a volunteer here 4 years ago and my background is in the mental health sector.
I am a Youth worker, Drug and Alcohol worker who has worked within community and supported health research work overseas. I am also an instructor in Yoga Nidra which is a form of relaxation and meditation.
One of my favourite moments has been helping out at the stall at the Springvale Snow Festival because there were so many people from different backgrounds who came for information so it was rewarding to be able to educate and help them.
